The iconography of this work is inspired by a conscious classicist quotation. The artistic language draws inspiration from classical antiquity, both Greek and Roman, as well as its revival during the Renaissance. All this translates into an execution whose primary goal is mimesis, that is, the human need to imitate and reproduce nature, the world around us. Along with naturalistic rendering, the other fundamental concept, according to the parameters of Classicism, is the unity of the work of art, through a harmonious correspondence between all its parts.

The work displays the precision of drawing typical of an illustration. All the details are elegantly rendered, with a few curious touches. Even in the use of light and the accentuation of shadows, the author demonstrates a highly skilled and gifted hand.

The illustration was created by C. Coraggia, an Italian artist active between the 19th and 20th centuries, who displays a high level of academic training. He remains faithful to the illustration genre, creating a completely objective composition with a complex drawing technique. The author's goal is to reproduce as many details as accurately as possible and arouse curiosity in the viewer.
