Coriolano Mazzerioli - Maternity

The artwork depicts an affectionate maternity scene, with a woman in profile tenderly holding a newborn in her arms. The mother smiles gently while the child, dressed in red, looks at her intensely, conveying a profound sense of connection and familial love. The protective embrace is the emotional focal point of the painting, celebrating the universal bond between mother and child.

The painting displays an expressive figurative style, characterized by fluid, visible, and at times blurred brushstrokes that lend dynamism to the composition and atmosphere. The use of color is naturalistic, with warm skin tones and a textured, gestural background that emphasizes the main figures without defining environmental details. The light gently models the forms, focusing on the faces and the red drapery, creating a strong emotional and intimate impact.

The artwork was created by Coriolano Mazzerioli. Currently, there is no information about the painter, also due to the existence of a namesake, but we can place him in the second half of the twentieth century.
