Description of the work
Description of the work
The work is a composition of an abstract genre. Abstract comes from the Latin term “Abstrahere,” which means to extract, to pull out. The process of abstraction, in fact, consists in eliminating the particular and individual aspects of an object to derive a universal concept. From Kandinsky to Mondrian, from Pollock to Miró, many painters have pushed the process of abstraction to the limit in their works, paradoxically creating pure forms and pure colors that do not exist in nature or translating their emotions and their instinctuality into images.
Andrea Spuntarelli's pictorial research is based on a high process of abstraction of forms, based on the perception of sounds, voices, and colors. For this reason, the results of his pictorial work are often heterogeneous, because Andrea starts from a theme but the expressive developments, guided by his deep and refined sensitivity, can be unpredictable. In some cases he remains closer to a figurative formal dress, but transfiguring it in the synthesis carried out by the perception of the senses. In other cases, however, he creates concrete forms, which practically do not exist in nature and which lead him to explore dimensions different from ours. In this variety of outcomes and research, however, the language of this artist remains coherent, remaining founded on a solid expressionist-abstract base. The gestural component is very relevant, which also relies on tactile interventions and which, in an elaborate pictorial application, can be distinguished in large energetic strokes or more calligraphic sign interventions. From a chromatic point of view, the use of colors with a strong emotional and spiritual value falls within the expressionist line, in a balanced dialogue between tones refined in the general economy of the work.
Andrea Spuntarelli was born in Tivoli in 2000 and lives and works in Guidonia Montecchio. He is a young artist full of passion and talent, guided by his refined sensory attitude. He initially dedicated himself to the study of the piano, but his true passion is painting, which, however, also arises from musical inspiration. In his pictorial production, he has adopted a language of abstract inspiration that he interprets with his own original inclination. Some of his works are exhibited at the “La Stanza dell'Arte” gallery in Guidonia and, in the future, he would like to open his own studio.
