Alfonso Capocci - Untitled (Woman with a Book)

The work depicts a seated female figure with a book, immersed in a landscape of warm and evocative tones. The woman, rendered with essential and stylized forms, is characterized by a pensive and contemplative expression. The palette, dominated by ochre, browns, and purplish tones, and the intense light in the background lend the scene an intimate and suspended atmosphere. The book becomes an element that accentuates the figure's sense of quietude and introspection.

Alfonso Capocci (1911-1997) was an Italian painter with a figurative background. His work is characterized by simplified forms, solid areas of color, and warm tones, with particular attention to the representation of the human figure and its psychological aspects. Works on masonite and female subjects are also documented in the art market and auction catalogs
