Description of the work
Description of the work
In the history of art, a clear distinction can often be made between figurative and abstract stylistic movements. However, when an artist's goal is to represent an object that resonates with phenomenal reality but is also charged with hidden and symbolic meaning, this boundary can become blurred. Symbolism and Expressionism are emblematic stylistic movements in their conceptual interpretation of reality, with an iconic rendering of images and a symbolic interpretation in the use of color.
Alessandro Busci's painting style is exceptionally high-quality and highly recognizable in its distinctive features and characteristics. Busci is an artist who remains deeply rooted in phenomenal reality: his language is figurative, and what he paints is perfectly recognizable. However, his world is disrupted by an extremely gestural approach, which takes into account the influences of Abstract Expressionism but turns them toward figurative representation. This is evident in the long, energetic brushstrokes that complexly construct space. Even the color is not naturalistic, but follows the emotionality of the depiction, complemented by the flashes of light typical of this painter's style.
Alessandro Busci is a Milanese artist born in 1971. He embodies a highly original painting style that has made him very popular. Since 1997, he has collaborated with Atelier Mendini and organized the Telefono Azzurro traveling exhibition at various Swatch stores. In 2002, he won the "La Fenice et des artistes" award in Venice. In 2004, he was invited to the 14th Quadriennale d'Arte (Anteprima Torino) and was a finalist in the 5th edition of the "Cairo Communication Award," exhibited at the Palazzo della Permanente in Milan. In 2007, he participated in the group exhibition conceived by Vittorio Sgarbi, "Italian Art 1968-2000," held at the Palazzo Reale.
