Description of the work
Description of the work
Landscape has always been a central theme in artistic research, both as a setting, as a backdrop, and as a subject itself. The naturalistic depiction of landscape has always been an artist's aspiration. Each historical period has offered its own interpretation of landscape, contributing to the evolution of its depiction: first with an exploration of space, through Brunelleschi's perspective in the early Renaissance, then with atmospheric rendering in the 16th century, up until the depiction of every single vibration of light on objects in Impressionism.
The work depicts a landscape created with a fine painting technique. The composition is certainly very classical, with a broad perspective that extends from the lake's surface to the mountains that disappear in the distance. The artist displays a very light touch, with diluted brushstrokes forming transparent glazes. Through this technique, Brambilla is able to capture all the light vibrations of the view, especially those reflected by the surface of the water.
Alberto Brambilla is a painter born in 1908. He presents a very classical conception of genre and landscape painting. This traditionalist vision coincides with the excellent craftsmanship of his technique and his works.
