Description of the work
Description of the work
The artwork Transgeometric Fire is a modern and original reinterpretation of Michelangelo's David bust. The subject is still recognizable, but is transformed through broken and angular geometric shapes that break the smooth surface of the sculpture. Bright colors such as red, yellow, and orange bring the face and background to life, creating an effect of movement and inner strength. The work conveys energy, as if it were in continuous change.
The style of the work fully reflects the vision of Transgeometry, conceived by Franzoso. The shapes are broken and recomposed according to non-traditional visual rules, in which depth arises from chromatic contrasts and angled geometries, rather than from classical chiaroscuro. The volumes blend with abstract elements, creating a sense of space that goes beyond reality. Warm and cold colors mix, giving life to an image that seems to move but remains stable.
Carlo Franzoso, known artistically as Agathos, is an Italian contemporary artist known for his theoretical and visual research based on Transgeometry, a pictorial language that explores the representation of infinity through unconventional spatial structures. After the presentation of the Manifesto of Transgeometric Spatialism in 2016 in Florence, his work gained international prominence. With exhibitions at the Louvre, New York, and Barcelona, Agathos has built an original path that unites science and art, deepening the way we perceive space and overcoming the traditional boundaries between geometry, philosophy, and spirituality.
