Biography
Francesco Sedda, born in Siena in 1974, came to painting in 2002 through his friend and mentor Renzo Regoli, who introduced him to art and inspired the direction of his path. His painting is distinguished by the use of the palette knife and the materiality of colour, tools with which he builds intense and dynamic surfaces. His works reflect a deep connection with nature and spirituality, central elements of Native American culture, to which he feels particularly close and whose values and worldview he shares. He is also fascinated by the mystery of mermaids, creatures that for him represent freedom and an existence beyond visible boundaries. The concept of rebirth and the connection between humankind and nature emerge forcefully in his paintings, which are always imbued with a strong chromatic energy. Although he admires artists such as Van Gogh and Dalí, Sedda has always sought a personal expressive path, building a pictorial language that combines spontaneity and formal research. Over the years he has taken part in numerous exhibitions and art events. In 2024 he took part in the Premio Internazionale Firenze, organised by PitturiAmo APS. He has also been selected for the Annuario 2025 Artisti in Vetrina of the Fondazione Effetto Arte. In 2025 he will exhibit his work "Sirena" at the Galleria d'Arte in via Ariosto 19, in an in-person exhibition to be held in the autumn of the same year, running for 15 days.
