Biography

Hannah Scaramella develops an artistic practice that moves across painting and sculpture, guided by a spontaneous and instinctive creative process in which emotions, inner visions and gesture intertwine freely. Over the years, her language has become increasingly playful, fresh and essential, giving way to a direct expression free from aesthetic conditioning and superstructures.

For Hannah, making art means entering into dialogue with her own inner world, allowing eyes and hands to follow an unplanned impulse, in constant connection with what emerges during the work. Once completed, the work detaches entirely from the artist to become the property of those who look at it.

Her wish is that each work may become a space of personal recognition, in which the viewer does not necessarily seek the emotions or intentions of the person who made it, but finds something of their own: thoughts, sensations and visions that belong to their inner life. The work thus becomes an open meeting place, in which every gaze is free to construct its own meaning.
