Frezio

Ezio Francescotti was born in Ivrea, in the Province of Torino, on 20 February 1950. He lives and works in San Martino Canavese, in the Province of Torino, and has his studio at Via Verdi 58, Strambino TO. He is also the inventor of the famous children's construction game «MONTURELLO», "the most beautiful game that sharpens the mind", which inspired his large sculptures. He calls these works «MONTURE», a word of his own invention, because he regards them as assembled sculptures (*sculture montate*), and he describes himself as both a painter and a "muntore". They are made from tubes and spheres in enamelled plastic and stainless steel, and are large *monture* designed to embellish gardens, building atriums, roundabouts and similar settings. You can contact him for free quotes and/or information on 335 276111, and he will answer personally. He says of himself: "I am constantly searching, because I am always convinced that tomorrow I will do better than what I have made today. This leads me to continually experiment with new paths and new expressive techniques. I have painted with all materials, old and modern, using whatever technology makes available to me. I paint on hardboard (faesite), canvas, paper, chipboard, Forex, PVC, oilcloth and aluminium. I use brushes, palette knives, fingers, sponges, erasers, sticks and so on. I scratch, add, and blow enamels, acrylics, tempera, oil and everything that is colour. I alternate years without painting with years of pictorial research, painterly and otherwise, almost obsessive, which sometimes leads me to make as many as three paintings a day. Since the 2000s I have concentrated on abstract-figurative-material acrylic painting, with particular attention to finish, which allows me to say that my paintings ARE BEAUTIFUL TO LOOK AT AND PLEASANT TO CARESS. I WILL CONTINUE TO SEARCH, BECAUSE I AM SURE THAT SOONER OR LATER I WILL FIND."
