Francesco Giannini

Francesco Giannini has been a wildlife photographer for over ten years. In the past three years he has expanded his work to include portrait photography, always in black and white and with a Fine Art approach. In 2024 he took part in the "PitturiAmo" competition with an evocative photograph of a lion, and he was the subject of a video exhibition at the Galleria Cartavetra di Firenze. Having always been fascinated by animals, Francesco seeks beauty in details and in unrepeatable moments. His aim is to capture a precise instant, conveying a clearly defined artistic idea. His passion for photography has led him to extraordinary experiences, often accompanied by his wife, who supports him with patience through the long waits needed to capture the perfect shot. For Francesco, photography is not a matter of quantity but of quality: few shots, but essential ones. If a photograph fails to capture the essence of the moment, he considers it pointless to work on it further. His photographic journey began in the world of sport, capturing football matches. Even in that context, although he had to take many shots, he always sought to focus on the essential and avoid the superfluous. Today, alongside his work as a professional photographer for events, weddings and ceremonies, he devotedly pursues his artistic research in Fine Art. One of his most ambitious projects is to document, through photography, the historical memory of the concentration camps. His journey begins at Fossoli, a holding and sorting site for deportees, and continues with Mauthausen and Auschwitz, with the aim of creating a visual journey of great emotional impact. Self-taught, Francesco Giannini has turned his passion into a profession, with the aim of conveying emotions and telling stories through images.
