Enrico Bovati

The artist, with a background in drawing and illustration, took his first steps at the Civica Scuola d'Arte di Pavia before attending the studio of Maestro Caprara, a fundamental encounter that introduced him to the most refined painting techniques. As the master's collaborator, he took part in the creation of frescoes for churches and private homes. Over time, he developed his own approach and opened a personal studio, determined to pursue an authentic and professional artistic project. His works reflect a recognisable figurative style that is, at the same time, constantly evolving. He favours oil on canvas or panel, where he can explore a range of nuances and chromatic intensities. Enrico Bovati has chosen a synthetic and direct painterly language, one that does not confine itself to detailed description but aims for an immediate and decisive visual impact. His painting, though evocative, departs from a faithful copy of reality, seeking instead to reinterpret it through simplified forms and intense colours, capable of conveying emotions and suggestions to the viewer. His series of flowers on a black background marks a symbolic turning point: the flowers become absolute protagonists here, almost endowed with human features, and reflect a "violated nature" that invites the observer to look beyond aesthetics. In the landscapes, often inspired by visual memory, the artist explores artificial light and dreamlike atmospheres, recreating fragments of scenes drawn from the memories and sensations those places have left him. His aim is to create paintings that "hold the gaze over time," capable of leaving a trace in the soul of the viewer. Each work thus becomes a universe of its own, evoking a personal experience and offering an almost metaphysical dimension, where memory, emotion and symbol merge into a painting of unique and unmistakable character.
