Biography
Elegant and refined, Elisabetta Di Martino's painting is devoted to an artistic representation that fuses creativity and technique. Passionate about art from a very young age, she enrolled in the three-year ceramics course at the Istituto Professionale di Forlì, an important period of training for the painter that would also influence the years to come. Having completed her artistic maturità, Elisabetta Di Martino enrolled at the Accademia di Belle Arti, favouring the mosaic teaching section. Although she did not manage to complete her academic studies, she spent a considerable time in the fields of design and architecture before moving into teaching. This part of her life gave the painter a desire to experiment and to undertake research. The artist's originality emerges through iconographies that also draw on the history of art. Elisabetta Di Martino's canvases seem suspended in time, evoking the sense of wonder and fantasy found in fairy tales. This pairs very well with the artist's passion for naturalistic painting, in which plants, flowers and animals move and take form. The oil painting that Elisabetta Di Martino uses gathers the nuances of a life dedicated to art, with an enveloping warmth that gives rise to luminous and harmonious tones.
