Biography
An artist in love with colour, with an overwhelming passion for art and an unwavering commitment to his vision. This is how Cristiano Scano, born in 1964, describes himself. Scano is an artist with a strong vision: inspired by the works of Peter Zimmermann, he began working with resin. Through lengthy creative processes divided into multiple pourings, he creates colourful works full of transparencies that glow with a light of their own. To further emphasise the diaphanous quality of these pitto-sculptures, he sometimes places actual lights behind the object, which thus takes on an aesthetic as well as a practical function. It is a rare technique, and few artists know how to master the pouring of resin to create a unified whole, anticipating how it will flow and dry and the effect of the colours layered on top. Scano has set up a studio where he works on several pieces in parallel, creating a veritable assembly line that takes into account the drying times of his preferred material. His works, thanks to their intense and translucent colours, have a strong emotional impact, delighting the viewer with their playful appearance. They inspire wonder, as they belong to a category of works that are still extremely rare; their modernity lies both in the choice of material and in the combination of colours and forms.
