Biography
Arturo Bosetti was born in Udine in 1938. His life has been devoted to art from the very beginning, both as a versatile artist and as a teacher and restorer. Over a long career he has taken part in numerous group and solo exhibitions. Throughout his development he has experimented with a range of techniques, starting from the more academic practices of drawing and painting and later developing highly personal methods, also shaped by his experience in the world of restoration. His paintings are grounded in a vision he has theorised himself, the light-colour theory. For him, this light-colour pairing is the foundational element of perception: it lies at the basis of the flowing in and out, the composing and decomposing, and it is light and colour that shape our way of living and seeing, influencing our state of mind and the emotions that move us. Starting from this premise, the artist seeks to create on canvas visions that accompany his pictorial research, with the aim of forming an ensemble of colours capable of stirring in the viewer personal images and inner emotions that engage the spectator in a singular way, so that he or she becomes not a passive observer but, on the contrary, is invited to take an active part. The viewer is encouraged to pick up on the signals of informal painting, to interpret them and, above all, to feel them in the depths of their own being in a unique and unrepeatable way.
