Biography
Magrini's work can be described as a form of free figuration, marked by a pronounced graphic component, a synthetic breakdown of forms and an expressive use of colour. His subjects, mainly faces, figures and imaginative compositions, emerge from a creative process that privileges immediacy and the necessity of the gesture over academic construction.
His work thus occupies a truly personal dimension, in which the act of creation also takes on the value of an inner reconstruction. Each piece may be understood as the expression of a memory that resurfaces, translated into image through a direct, accessible and coherent language.
Although he has no traditional artistic training, Antonio Magrini has developed a recognisable language, founded on compositional balance, linearity of line and chromatic vivacity, which define his identity within the context of contemporary independent production.
