Biography

Born in 1949 in Gonnosfanadiga, in the province of Cagliari, he discovered an interest in drawing from early childhood, while his passion for painting dates back to early adolescence. The adult society of the time, however, did not appreciate this talent and stifled it, as it was seen as a distraction from his studies. This passion lay dormant until the age of thirty-five, when, thanks to some friendships, he discovered the ISOGEA painting school, where he met the masters Franco Meloni and Renè Reinicke. Over seven years with them, he rediscovered this passion, though his output remained limited to his own strictly personal enjoyment, despite a few unsuccessful invitations to offer his works for sale during the various group exhibitions in which he took part in this second phase of his artistic journey. In his forties, with marriage, the birth of two splendid sons and a job with an airline, this passion was set aside for a second time, somewhat reluctantly. With retirement at sixty, and through another great passion of his life, naturalistic hiking, his interest in painting reawakened. Continuing his self-taught path over the years, he began to depict glimpses of nature and figurative painting. During the home confinement caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, confined to the restricted spaces of his house, his love of the brush flared up once again, and from that moment on he could no longer put it down. Emerging from the health crisis, he took part in several masterclasses and had the opportunity to work with the Spanish painters Vicente Romero Redondo and Fermin Garcia Sevilla, the former a master of pastel and the latter of oil, whose teaching awakened a vital energy and a great pleasure that no longer found any restraint. As a result, his production soon became excessive. The logistical problems that followed led him to place his works on the market, and he finally discovered the pleasure of sharing them beyond the circle of his acquaintances and friends, thus coming to enjoy the appreciation of other enthusiasts of the field.
