Biography
For Carrese, painting well is not enough: art must tell something, take a stance, and express unease or a view of reality.
In his works, sacred themes coexist with socio-political subjects, with particular attention to the marginalised and the most vulnerable social classes. The human figure becomes the most direct means of addressing these themes, as it is able to communicate immediately through the gaze, the face and the body.
