Antonino Sciartilli

Antonino Sciartilli is an artist of Abruzzese origin, born in Castiglione Messer Marino and currently living in Monza. After many years as an electronics engineer at a well-known telecommunications company, he decided to return to painting, his great passion since childhood. Self-taught, he draws inspiration from the Impressionist and Expressionist painters of the last century and works mainly on panel with acrylic colours. His works are distinguished by figures often lacking defined features, such as eyes, nose or mouth: a deliberate choice aimed at evoking emotion in the viewer rather than depicting reality literally. Antonino also pays close attention to the tones of his backgrounds, warmer or cooler depending on the atmosphere he wishes to convey, using them as tools to strengthen the emotional impact of his compositions. In recent years he has taken part in important exhibitions, including "Arte sul Naviglio Grande" in Milan, "100 Artisti a Palazzo Fani" in Tuscania and "I Percorsi dell'Arte al Castello del Belgioioso" in Belgioioso, tocco dell'arte in Taggia (IM). His journey continues with upcoming exhibitions, including the new edition of "Arte sul Naviglio Grande" in Milan, "L'Arte si Mostra" at the Complesso Monumentale del Pio Sodalizio dei Piceni in Rome, the art festival in San Remo (curated by the Effetto Arte foundation) taking place from 13 to 16 November, and the Biennale di Sondrio, scheduled between February and April 2026. Antonino Sciartilli's painting is a personal exploration that combines technique and sensitivity, using essential figures and carefully calibrated backgrounds to convey moods and atmospheres.
