Antonella Scialò

I was born in Pozzuoli, but I have lived in Rome for many years. Art has been a therapy for me, a refuge from the difficult reality I faced in my youth. Expressing myself through painting has been my way of finding myself and tracing back who I am. I believe in continuous experimentation. For many years I painted landscapes, often drawn from my memories of childhood. A few years ago I came across "fluid Art" and was drawn in and fascinated by the "almost mystical" movement of the magma of colours. I was intrigued by its irregularities, its imposing volumes and the brilliance the colours took on. This model of art, "almost in perpetual motion", gave me the concreteness I had been passionately seeking. I love abstraction very much (I have also painted with a brush, not only fluid art), and for several months now I have been studying and experimenting with texture, using materials such as plaster, stucco and plastil. Art allows me to give substance to my dreams and even to push my soul beyond the armoured boundaries that life so often places before us.
