Biography
Born in Palermo in 1990, the young artist Ambra Guercio, known as Ambrella, delights the eye with authentic canvases of strong expressive tone. Her interest in art emerged early, as she drew clothes and coloured, thanks in part to a beloved aunt, a self-taught painter, who introduced her to this world. Over the years, while maintaining a steady interest in art through exhibitions, museums and theatres, she drifted away from painting. In 2021, following an unpleasant accident and with the support of people close to her, Ambra Guercio began painting again and regained her inner momentum. Her canvases, in which she mainly uses acrylic, are charged with energy and vitality, where line and colour coexist. In this way, the canvas becomes an unprecedented language springing from inner emotions, expressed solely through the application of colour. For our self-taught painter, art is the purest way of meditating, of knowing herself and the world, surrendering even to the instinct of the gesture before the canvas. The works of Ambra Guercio are artistic expressions of a young painter who wishes to tell her own story and communicate her emotions, in a crescendo of colours, forms and symbols.
