Ama Mar

Anna Maria Marraffa, known as Ama Mar. The small country village that welcomed me at birth gave me the scents of nature, the colours of the earth and the pleasure of simplicity. Simplicity is not easy! The search for a vital purpose and one's own mission lasts a lifetime, alternating with long moments of "absence" from myself, in which I got lost, found myself again, and lost myself once more until arriving at today. The path has led me to seek a deep meaning in everything I do and embrace, and the circle has returned to its origin, when as a little girl I dreamed of painting with a thousand colours the wonderful life I had before my eyes. Today, conventionally "an adult", I am proud to have returned to looking at life with the eyes of my inner child. I chose a life that was certainly very difficult, at times dramatic, at times balanced on invisible precipices, and this taught me to listen to myself, to seek within myself the strength, courage and humility to become who I am today. A long journey of spiritual research has nurtured this desire of mine to know, to see beyond the visible and to hear beyond the audible. My paintings are born here, in the land of the invisible. Visions and intuitions come through channelling from beings of Light, to whom I am constantly connected and who urge me to spread this new visual language through great cosmic portals.
