A total naturalistic rendering, therefore, that is also expressed in a restrained atmosphere. Saint Matthew and the angel, in fact, interact with the space in a balanced way, with a light sfumato that makes their contours undefined, their flesh soft to the touch, and their hair light in the air.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n \u003cp style=\"text-align: justify;\"\u003eThis reproduction is based on a work by Guido Reni. He lived between 1575 and 1642 and was one of the most important painters of 17th-century Classicism. Born in Bologna, he trained at the Accademia degli Incamminati under the Carracci brothers.
