The movement's goal was to definitively transcend the surface of the canvas for a perceptual experience that definitively engaged Space. Hence, the use of electronic technical devices, employed for their ability to radiate energy, or the use of gestural techniques, such as holes or cuts, to break through the surface of the work and invade it with the accidentality of reality.

The path taken by Omar Ludo to definitively transcend the dimension of the work and invade reality looks to two great masters, Agostino Bonalumi and Enrico Castellani. He draws on the concept of the extroflexed canvas, aiming to create a new perceptual stimulus through a work in relief and the resulting play of shadows on the surface. Regarding color, Ludo adheres to monochrome, like the two great masters. Rather, it is in the concept of extroflexion that Ludo finds his own stylistic signature. Indeed, Ludo rejects the rationality and rigorous geometry that underpin the works of Bonalumi and Castellani, instead favoring a more random arrangement of the bulges. In this way, the extroflexion frees itself from rigid grids and takes on a more organic, almost biological, appearance.

Omar Ludo was born in 1953 and graduated from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Padua. He began working on the design of some of Italy's most important highways. Later, dissatisfied with his profession, he embarked on an artistic journey that led him first to create engraved and illuminated canvases and, later, to conceive extroflexions. Omar Ludo has participated in numerous exhibitions, including international ones. His works are held at the Italian Embassy and the International Red Cross in Monaco, the Italian Consulate General in Nice, Villa Strehler in Lugano, and Bartoli's Gallery in London.
