His pictorial conception is based on broad, diluted brushstrokes, through which the color spreads in transparent glazes. These broad brushstrokes form streaks of color that, horizontally or vertically, break up the space, shattering it into overlapping planes. The quality of the brushstroke is extremely striking, highly gestural, making the work vibrant with vitality. All this is in perfect harmony with Legato's colors, always vibrant, warm, vibrant, and lively.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp style=\"text-align: justify;\"\u003e Mimmo Legato was born in Bova Marina, Calabria. In addition to being an artist, he also teaches painting at the Art School in Cosenza. His career began in 1973, while still a student at the Academy, where he also trained under Giuseppe Marino. His first exhibition was in Mantua for the Lubiam Prize.
