My teacher, Aristide Barilli, the son of an early twentieth-century painter from Parma, introduced me to the paintings of his father Latino Barilli and my schoolmate Amedeo Bocchi, whom I still consider two great influences on my work.
I recently began a series of serial works on some iconic faces from today's popular culture. Working on a well-known face allows me to work with greater expressive freedom while maintaining the facial recognition.
