Scenes of city life became typical themes with a more realistic interpretation starting in the 19th century. It's worth remembering how, immediately following the realist movements of the 19th century, the Impressionists also placed great emphasis on the everyday, on everyday life, with a certain predilection, however, for the frenetic pace of the city, its crowds, traffic, and typically bourgeois settings.

In depicting this landscape, Faliero Tamburi draws on several central themes of contemporary art. First, he creates a type of representation that goes beyond phenomenal reality, aiming to explore the Jesi view in all its aspects, not just what is visible to the eye. Thus, the landscape is broken down and multiplied according to different directions and multiple viewpoints. The brushstrokes are complex, positioned on different levels, rendering the surface of the painting multifaceted. At the same time, Tamburi subjects the subject to an extreme process of synthesis, leaving few traces to identify reality, almost reaching a sort of abstract expressionism. Moreover, the application of color is also quite gestural and material.

Faliero Tamburi was born in Jesi in 1937, where he lives and works.
