His subjects are constructed almost entirely through color, which he expertly applies with loose brushstrokes charged with luminous vibrations. In this way, his paintings acquire a marked immediacy and freshness, yet are accompanied by a remarkable realism in the depiction of nature and phenomenal reality, rich in detail and particulars.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp style=\"text-align: justify;\"\u003e Aurelio Barbalonga was born in Palermo in 1922 and passed away in Bologna in 2003. During the war, he was imprisoned in Greece and participated in the partisan struggle. From 1946, he established various cultural connections in France, England, and the Netherlands. In 1956, he founded an art school in the Marche region. In 1964, he moved to Bologna, where he founded the Schola Pictorum, which enjoyed extraordinary success.
